Road Closure/Freezing Rain - March 31 2025 UPDATED
Mono-Amaranth Townline is closed between 20th Sideroad and 25th Sideroad by police order due to trees obstructing the roadway.
20th Sideroad closed between County Road 12 and 4th Line by order of the Shelburne Fire Department due to a broken hydro pole and a downed tree on the hydro lines.
NOW OPEN - 30th Sideroad closed from 7th Line to 8th Line due to downed tree limbs obstructing the roadway.
There is Township wide power outages and downed tree limbs over the roadways due to the freezing rain.

The Multicultural Flag was raised today at the Township of Amaranth Municipal Office. The Township proclaims June 27, 2023 as Multicultural Day in the Township. The Township supports an inclusive and respectful community where all citizens can live, work and play in a safe environment.
Dufferin County retained WSP Canada Inc. to undertake the Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study to consider potential solutions to realign Dufferin County Road 109 and 2nd Line (Amaranth). 2nd Line is proposed to be realigned as the fourth leg of the Dufferin County Road 109 and Dufferin County Road 3 intersection.
(AMARANTH, ON) - Members of the Dufferin OPP Detachment are asking for the public's assistance in identifying suspects who have been stealing road signs around the Township of Amaranth.
Dufferin County invites residents to join on Saturday June 10th for a free electric vehicle test-drive experience with Plug’n Drive. The event will take place at the 82 Broadway Street municipal parking lot in Orangeville from 9:00am – 3:00pm where residents will have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a variety of EV makes and models.

Applications are now open for Digital Main Street’s (DMS) Ontario Grants Program. The Digital Technology Grant (DTG) provides up to $2,500 to qualifying brick-and-mortar small businesses to help cover the costs of adopting digital technologies.
