  • Credit Valley Conservation - UPDATE April 1 2023

    Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) advises that the Credit River watershed received 30-35 mm of rain during Friday March 31st and overnight thunderstorms. Also, the Environment of Canada is forecasting risk of thunderstorms this afternoon.

  • Credit Valley Conservation - March 22 2023

    CVC advises that Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry’s (MNRF) is forecasting a low-pressure weather system expecting to bring 5-10 mm of rainfall on Thursday, March 23rd . Another low-pressure weather system expecting to bring from 10 mm to 15 mm of rain and snow on Saturday, March 25th .

  • Credit Valley Conservation - February 7 2023

    February 7, 2023 - Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) advises that daytime highs will range from 2 to 8ºC over the next several days. Light rain is forecasted for today and up to 20mm is expected on Thursday.

  • Grand River Watershed Conditions Statement January 2 2023

    Another weather system is expected to bring up to 30mm of rainfall to southern Ontario on Tuesday and Wednesday, which will result in increased river flows throughout the Grand River watershed.

    Ground conditions are frozen and/or saturated due to recent weather events. No significant flooding is anticipated with this event; however, higher river flows in local waterways will increase the risk in low-lying areas typically prone to flooding.

  • Grand River Watershed Conditions Statement Dec 30 2022

    The weather system moving into southern Ontario on Friday will bring mild temperatures and moderate rainfall across the Grand River watershed. These warmer temperatures have triggered a gradual melting of the snow pack, which will result in runoff into local waterways. Moderate rainfall is expected to accompany this weather system with up to 40mm forecast for many parts of the watershed over the next five days.

    Plow operators and roads crew continues today to clean up the roads around the Township. There are still a few areas that the Township Roads Department is asking travelers to avoid.

  • Amaranth Significant Weather Event - December 23 2022

    Pursuant to s.16.9 of O.Reg. 239/02 as amended, the Township of Amaranth is declaring a Significant Weather Event in respect to blowing snow and reduced visibility, starting at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 and continuing until further notice. Users of the roads in the Township are advised to avoid any unnecessary travel and to use caution if doing so.
