CVC - Flood Watch - Message #1 - CANCELLED
FLOOD WATCH CANCELLED, MESSAGE #2 - Flood Outlook Statement
A Flood Outlook Statement is issued as an early notice of the potential for flooding based on weather forecast of heavy rain, snow melt, high wind or other conditions that could lead to high runoff, ice jams, shoreline flooding or erosion.
Date: April 4, 2025 - Time: 10:46 AM
Statement Details
Environment Canada and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Surface Water Monitoring Centre (SWMC) are forecasting rainfall amounts of 5 to 15 mm Friday overnight into Saturday.
The rain events in the last few days have resulted in water levels in some streams at or slightly above bankfull. That, near-saturated soil conditions, and the anticipated rainfalls may cause some minor flooding along the Credit River or its major tributaries, mainly in the northern and middle parts of the watershed. Some low-lying areas may also experience higher flows and water levels throughout the watershed. As a result, local streams and rivers could become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts, bridges, and dams. Adults and children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.
CVC will continue to closely monitor weather and water levels in the watershed. The Watershed Conditions Outlook will be in effect through Sunday, April 6, 2025 or until further notice.
