Due to unforeseen circumstances the Township office is closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Road Closure/Freezing Rain - April 2 2025 UPDATED

There is Township wide power outages and downed tree limbs over the roadways due to the last freezing rain storm. 

Further freezing rain is anticipated this afternoon, April 2. Conditions may be hazardous, please avoid travel if possible. 

If at home, please remain inside, multiple reports of people being injured while outside due to falling trees

NOW OPEN - 20th Sideroad closed between County Road 12 and 4th Line by order of the Shelburne Fire Department due to a broken hydro pole and a downed tree on the hydro lines. The road is now open with a reduction on the west bound lane near 4th Line.

NOW OPEN - 30th Sideroad closed from 7th Line to 8th Line due to downed tree limbs obstructing the roadway. 

NOW OPEN - Mono-Amaranth Townline is closed between 20th Sideroad and 25th Sideroad by police order due to trees obstructing the roadway.

The Dufferin Board of Trade has set up a candidate platform on their website that has information on the candidates running for office in the Township of Amaranth.
They will be hosting a live Zoom debate with Amaranth candidates on October 6th, 2022 from 7pm-9pm
